Benefits of Grants

We have been awarded over $7 million in grant funding which have allowed us to:

  • Expand capacity in serving our low-income, Latinx/e population and to strengthen academic programming and management by adding funding to new and existing areas that support students’ academic success.
  • Create or improve systems and spaces where students feel welcome, supported, and can succeed.
  • Some of the resources that were funded by these grants are:
    • El Centro
    • Summer Bridge
    • First Year Experience
    • HSI STEM
  • Activities funded by these grants are:
    • Raza College Day
    • STEM Day
    • Guest Speaker Series
    • Summer Bridge STEM
    • Carnitas & Citations Workshop
    • 4-year university tours with emphasis on STEM
    • Work-based experiences
    • Summer Research Internships
    • STEM Family Night

We want to ensure that all students are meeting their academic goals and outcomes, whether earning a certificate, graduating, or transferring, while learning more about themselves. We hope when students understand we are in HSI, they feel a sense of belonging.
