High Beginning ESL
- ESL 210: High Beginning Reading (3 hours/week)
- ESL 220 High Beginning Writing (3 hours/week)

In the first level of our program, High Beginning, classes are all noncredit. That means classes are free, and students just pay the $33 student fee one time per semester. Students can repeat the courses as many times as needed. We recommend students receive a passing score in all three classes before they move on to the next level. When students pass ESL 220, they will be able to register for ESL 110A/240A. When students complete the High Beginner courses (ESL 210, ESL 220, and ESL 230), they will receive a certificate in basic English.
Low Intermediate and Intermediate ESL
- ESL 110A/240A: Low Intermediate Reading/Writing/Grammar (6 hours/week)

In our middle levels, students can choose to take the Reading, Writing and Grammar classes for noncredit or credit. It is the same class, and credit and noncredit students will be in the same room together. Credit students pay full price tuition for classes and earn credits towards a degree. When students pass 110A/240A, they can register for ESL 110B/240B. When students pass ESL 242A, they can register for ESL 242B. Students who complete the noncredit Reading, Writing and Grammar as well as the Listening Speaking Class at each level will earn a certificate.
