AGS Scholarships
Members of Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society have a few extra pools of scholarships to apply for. Below is a list for AGS members, as well as available to all Chabot students who meet the respective criteria.
AGS (Statewide) Scholarships*
Three members from each college/chapter are nominated to compete with other stellar
AGS members throughout the state. Scholarships may range from $500-1500 (amounts change
annually) and are awarded for Academics and Service. Please note that per AGS, Inc,
attendance at the Spring Convention is required for nominees as is AGS membership
fulfillment for the current academic year (Fall + Spring). The Spring Convention is
often in April and rotates between Northern and Southern California. Our chapter will
select our three members prior to the AGS, Inc due date.
AGS University Partnerships*
AGS is a recognized and respected organization with many universities. Some universities
offer special AGS scholarships for for eligible members who are transferring into
their respective college. Other universities offer special "Honors" scholarships where
AGS members are given additional points for participating in an honor society. A list
of university partners are listed on the AGS, Inc website (or updates are shared through
chapter advisors). You will be able to apply for those scholarships once admitted
to the university. Please inquire with the respective university for their criteria,
verification process and due dates.
Sigma Rho Chapter Scholarships*
Each year the club at Chabot has the opportunity to fundraise for Sigma Rho scholarships
to be awarded to one, two or three eligible club members within our chapter. The monetary
value and number of awards may range from year to year when available.
Student Senate of Chabot College (SSCC)
Every year the Student Government office offers scholarships to students who are active
on campus and in the community. Applications are often posted in February and due
in March. Please check with the Student Life scholarship website for more information.
Chabot College
Every year a variety of programs throughout campus sponsor special recognition and scholarship for students. Some of these include Friends of Chabot Foundation, Veterans Resource Center, Language Arts, Disabled Students Programs and Services, and many others. Some of these are announced in a large scholarship packet while others are announced separately. Most scholarships are posted (and awarded) in the Spring semester, while there are a few available in the fall. Some can be found at the scholarship website.
