Service Area Outcomes (SAO)

SAO Assessment Policies

The learning outcomes for programs in service areas are called Service Area Outcomes (SAOs). Examples of Service Areas include: Library, Learning Connection, Reprographics, and Veteran Resource Center and more. The OAC and the Office of Academic Services approved the following policies for service areas:

1. A minimum of two Service Area Outcomes are required by each Service Area.
2. Service Area Outcomes should be assessed at least once every 5 years
3. Service Area Outcomes and Assessment results must be publicized in an accessible location (such as the Course Catalog, Program Review App or the Service Area’s websites).

4. New service areas are exempt from submitting a SAO assessment for the first year that the program is active.
