Rising Star Award
Classified Senate Rising Star Award
The Classified Senate Rising Star Award is given each fall semester to honor one classified, classified supervisory, or classified confidential employee for their outstanding work on behalf of the Classified Senate, shared governance participation, support of students, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at the college and/or district.
To be eligible for the award, the employee must meet the following criteria:
- The employee must be permanent (full or part-time) with up to five years of experience in the District. District classified professionals who are assigned to Chabot College are eligible.
- The employee must be nominated by a fellow Chabot College employee (classified professional, faculty member, or administrator).
- The employee may not nominate themself.
- The employee must not have been a recipient of the award in past ten years.
2024-2025 Award
Nominations for the 2024-2025 Rising Star Award will be accepted in spring 2025. The 2024-2025 recipient will be announced during the Fall 2025 Convocation Day and he/she/they will receive a plaque and a $250 monetary award.
