FAQ For High School Students

What if I took a class that meets a prerequisite at my High School?

Chabot College will determine if a prerequisite satisfies requirements. For the most accurate information, once you have completed CCCApply and obtained a W#, obtain a high school transcript and make an appointment with the Chabot College Counseling Center.

How do I have my CLASS-Web/MyPortal account fixed if it has been disabled?

Visit the Welcome Center during open hours.

What do I do if there is a hold on my account?

If you have a hold on your account and you already completed your concurrent enrollment form, please contact Admissions and Records, ccarcom@chabotcollege.edu

I forgot my W#. What should I do?

If you did not receive your W# via email, then you can find your W# on CLASS-Web/MyPortal. See instructions.

FAQ For High School Students

Can my college class count towards my high school credit?

It is dependent on high school and district policy whether Early College classes count towards high school credit. Please see your counselor or principal to determine whether Chabot classes can count towards high school credit.

If I am taking a class at Chabot College, can my parents access my records?

Students and parents should understand that when taking a college course they are treated as adults. Faculty and campus services will be communicating directly with the student. On the Concurrent Enrollment Form there is the option to authorize the release of information to parents or guardians.

What if I no longer want to participate in this course?

If a student no longer wants to participate in a course, it is the student's responsibility to ensure that the course is dropped. There are deadlines to drop a course without receiving a negative or failing grade. See instructions for How to Withdraw from a Class

Are my grades permanent?

Any grade given after the NGR (No Grade of Record)/Census date is permanent. Please check your course syllabus to know the specific NGR date for your course.

What happens if I fail a class?

Students who fail a course will have the grade on their permanent transcript. Students can retake the course to get the credit, improve their GPA and improve their standing.

How much can I miss class?

A college class is a serious commitment where not attending class can lead to learning loss, missing essential information to succeed in the course and possibly failure or dismissal. Please check the course syllabus or discuss any absences with your instructor.

What if I have sports or other extracurricular activities at the same time?

Am I able to take dual enrollment courses if I am undocumented?

Yes. Undocumented students should read the AB 2364 form to see if eligible, and if so, complete and attach to the Concurrent Enrollment Form.

Are all courses transferable?

Please refer to the General Education and Transfer Patterns Course page to determine if a course is transferable.

How can I report my grades to CSU’s/UC’s?

Dual enrollment courses are college credits and must be reported to CSU’s and UC's as college courses on a college transcript.

FAQ For High School Students

If I have an IEP at my high school, will I receive the same accommodation and modification in my Chabot College courses?

Please check with Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS) for possible accommodations.

Is there a cost to participate in CCAP-DE and IDE courses?

For CCAP-DE, students pay no tuition, fees, or cost of books.

What is the difference between CCAP-DE, IDE: Individual Dual Enrollment, High School Articulation, and ADE: Adult Dual Enrollment?

The CCAP-DE program is for high school students to take college classess taught at specific high schools and be with other high school students. This is available to high schools with a College and Career Access Pathways Agreement (CCAP) between Chabot College and the high school district. Learn more

The IDE (Individual Dual Enrollment, formerly Concurrent Enrollment) program is for high school students to take college classes at Chabot College with other college students. Learn more

High School Articulation is when high school courses have a course articulation agreement, and a high school student can earn college credit by taking an exam and achieving a grade of B or better. Four-year colleges and universities may not accept articulated course credits. Learn more

The ADE (Adult Dual Enrollment) program is for students enrolled in a GED or diploma program at an adult school. Learn more

Am I eligible to apply if I am undocumented?

Yes, under California law AB 2364, undocumented and DACA high school students can participate in Dual Enrollment and can apply to have non-resident tuition fee waived. Students who wish to participate must complete the AB 2364 Form that is part of their Dual Enrollment permission form.
