Excel Trio
TRIO Excel is federally funded program designed to provide in-depth academic support and motivation to low-income, first generation students to graduate from Chabot College and/or transfer to a four-year college or university.
Eligibility
Chabot students must meet these specific eligibility requirements:
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident (or are in the process)
- Be one or more of the following:
- First generation college student
- Meet federal low-income guidelines
- Eligible for services through the Center for Disability Services
- Goal to transfer to a CSU/UC or private university
- Assessment Score minimal 110 C
Students Receive
Through a holistic approach that focuses on the whole student, participants receive the following services to ensure success at Chabot and beyond:
Academic Support
- Academic counseling
- Tutoring and study groups
- Priority registration and enrollment assistance
- College readiness and success courses
- Assistance developing your Student Educational Plan (SEP)
- Transfer assistance, including campus visits to local four-year colleges and universities
- ESL support including conversation courses and writing workshops
Career & personal growth
- Individualized mentoring, personal counseling and case management
- Cultural enrichment activities
- Career exploration workshops
