Current EOPS/CARE Students
Current EOPS/CARE students can schedule an appoitment with an EOPS/CARE counselor
through Canvas , by calling the EOPS front desk or in person at the EOPS office.

EOPS and CARE are support programs that provide “Over and Above” services to help keep students on the path to achieving their educational goals. Our support staff, peer guides, and counselors provide a well-rounded support system for all of our EOPS and CARE students. Learn more about our program and how to apply below.

In order to be eligible for EOPS, you must:
- Be A California Resident or designated AB540
- Be eligible to receive the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) A, B or C with zero (0) EFC
- Be enrolled in 12 units (full-time enrollment) or or have a DSPS reduce unit accommodation Letter with a GPA of 2.0 or higher when accepted
- Not have completed more than 70 semester units of college degree applicable course work (includes all colleges attended)
Must meet one of the following eduactional disadvantage background qualifiers:
- Did not graduate from high school, pass the California High School Proficiency Examination, or obatain the General Education Diploma (GED)
- Graduated from high school with a GPA of 2.49 or below
- Does not qualify for the minimum level English or Mathematics coursework required for an Associate degree
- Was previously enrolled in remedial education courses
- Is the first in their family to attend college
- The primary language spoken at homes is/was non-English
- Cannot have earned a degree already
- Must have at least a 2.0 GPA
- Cannot have already completed more than 70 Associate degree applicable units
- If attended other college(s), will need to attach or email unofficial transcrip(s) to application

*Note: Application review process may take up to two weeks.
EOPS Students may be eligible for CalFresh, a monthly food assistance benefit offered

For single parents, EOPS offers the supplemental CARE Program that provides:
- Personal Counseling
- Meal Grant
- Parent Workshop Series
- Childcare Grant

In order to be eligible for CARE, you must:
- Be a current EOPS student. (You must be accepted into the EOPS program first)
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a single parent and considered Head of Household
- Be a TANF (Temporary Aid for Needy Families) recipient. Student and/or dependent(s) must be receiving the cash aid.
Apply to EOPS and you'll be notified if you qualify for CARE.
