Jasmine Garcia, M.S.

Counselor

I’m Jasmine Garcia, a Xicana first generation college student from Michoacán, Mexico, born and raised on Ohlone land in the Bay Area. I'm a counselor on campus in Building 700 and passionate about social justice. I earned two Associate degrees at Chabot. Working as a tutor and peer guide on campus helped in developing my passion in connecting students to resources. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from San Francisco State University. My advice: build community, nurture your creativity, prioritize self-care, and don’t hesitate to explore new interests—like I did with ceramics and black-and-white film classes at Chabot. We come from powerful lineages. Be unapologetically yourself and remember la cultura cura. 🌱🤎
