Important: Submitting a request by the deadline allows the Financial Aid Office to review it. Meeting a deadline does not guarantee approval, financial aid eligibility, an award amount, or payment.

Term Deadline What You Need to Do
Fall 2026 Friday, December 11, 2026 Submit the correct form and all required supporting documents by the deadline.
Spring 2027 Friday, May 28, 2027 Submit the correct form and all required supporting documents by the deadline.
Summer 2027 Thursday, July 22, 2027 The deadline is Thursday because the Financial Aid Office is closed on Fridays during the summer.
Incomplete forms or missing documents may delay the review.

FAFSA and California State Aid Dates

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the California Dream Act Application are separate applications. Complete the application that applies to your circumstances.

2026-27 FAFSA and California Dream Act application opened October 1, 2025 Students can submit the appropriate 2026–2027 financial aid application.
California State Priority Deadline March 2, 2026 Submit the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application as early as possible for consideration for state financial aid.
California Community College Deadline September 2, 2026 Some California community college students may still be considered for certain state financial aid programs.
2026–2027 FAFSA Federal Deadline June 30, 2027 State and college deadlines may be earlier than the federal deadline.

 

The California Student Aid Commission determines eligibility for Cal Grant and other programs it administers. Chabot College may need to review additional information before financial aid can be awarded or paid.

Students who want their financial aid file reviewed for consideration for the first Fall 2026 disbursement should complete all required Financial Aid Office documents by the published priority date.

  • Submit requested forms and supporting documents as soon as possible.
  • Continue checking your financial aid status after submitting documents.

Completing your requirements by a priority date does not guarantee that financial aid will be awarded or paid by a specific date.

The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) administers Cal Grant and other California state financial aid programs.

If you are applying for California state financial aid:

  1. Submit the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application that applies to you.
  2. Check WebGrants 4 Students for your California financial aid information.
  3. Confirm that your GPA information has been received when required.
  4. Review and complete any additional steps requested by the California Student Aid Commission.
  5. Check MyPortal and ZoneMail for any additional information requested by the Chabot College Financial Aid Office.

Most students have their Cal Grant GPA information submitted electronically by their school. Students should check WebGrants 4 Students to make sure their information is on file.
