Flavia Maria Lake
Adjunct Faculty
Department:
Geography
Flavia Maria Lake received her MA in Geography at UCLA. She is a first-gen college graduate who attended community college before transferring to UC Berkeley for a BA in Political Economy and International Development. Julia Dowell
Adjunct Geography Professor
Department:
Geography

Julia (she/her) is a human geographer focusing on environmental and climate justice. She is most interested in understanding how and why environmental harms disproportionately impact historically disadvantaged communities including low-income and BIPOC communities. She also studies how climate change impacts further exacerbate environmental harms. Through this lens of injustice, Julia examines the systems of inequalities and potential solutions to rectify these harms. Julia has a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy and a M.A. in Geography from Cal State Long Beach.
