Machine Tool Technology Team

Adam Hathaway is a Machine Tool Technology Instructor at Chabot College in Hayward, CA, where he has specialized in CNC programming and software courses since 2016. He brings an expansive, interdisciplinary perspective to the department, blending years of industrial expertise with a rigorous creative practice. In the classroom, Adam focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical programming and hands-on application to help students master the technical precision, modern software workflows, and creative problem-solving skills essential to the evolving manufacturing industry. Prior to his tenure at Chabot, Adam served as a professional CNC machinist and programmer for prominent Bay Area organizations, including Tesla Motors, MDC Precision, and RJR Technologies. This deep technical foundation is complemented by an MFA in Sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute.
