Course Modality Key

The following modalities are the different types of DE courses currently offered at Chabot College.

100% Online Synchronous: course meets live online at specific days/times
100% Online Asynchronous: course does not meet on specific days and times (course completed in Canvas)
Online Combo: course is both Asynchronous AND meets Synchronously online
Hybrid Synchronous: course meets On-campus AND meets Synchronously online
Hybrid Asynchronous: course meets On-campus AND is Asynchronous in Canvas
Hybrid Combo: course meets On-campus AND meets Synchronously online AND is Asynchronous in Canvas
HyFlex: course meets live online AND in person at specific days/times, with students choosing which modality works best for them; this may or may not include an asynchronous component
