I love teaching English as a Second Language and meeting people from all over the world. I have a Master's in English: Creative Writing and an Adult Education Teaching credential. I have taught at both the community college and adult school level. Additionally, I spent about 10 years going back and forth to teach in Thailand with Burmese migrants as part of tsunami reconstruction efforts. I also had a meaningful summer in Greece where I volunteered for a program with a refugee camp. I also directed programs for refugees and immigrants in the non-profit world. My love of language includes writing poetry and creative nonfiction. You can find me reading around the Bay Area and in print including in the anthology: Writers of the Portuguese Diaspora in the United States and Canada.
