My parents are Koreans but I never lived in Korea. I was born in Guam and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina when I was 3 years old and lived there until I was 16. At the age of 16, we left Argentina and moved to Glendale, California where I attended Hoover High School. After high school, I went to UC Berkeley where I majored in Spanish Literature. After receiving my BA in Spanish, I went to UCLA where I earned a MA and a PhD in Latin American Colonial Literature. I have taught Spanish at UCLA, Scripps College, Western University of Health Sciences, and San José State University. I have been a full-time Spanish instructor at Chabot College since Fall of 2006. I speak Spanish, Korean, and English fluently. I have studied Italian, Portuguese, French, and Latin. I live with my husband (Moon), daughter (Emily), son (Alexander), and cat (Ellie) in San José, California.
