I immigrated to USA in 1983 after completing BA in Economics honors and Bachelors in Education. I taught high school in India before coming to USA. Life here was very tough for me because I had to work at minimum wage ($3.25 per hr), got my degrees evaluated to go back to school. I went back to school in 1985 and upon graduation worked as an accountant for a pharmaceutical company. I was hired by the college I graduated from in 1986 as an accounting teacher. I taught there till 89 and worked my way up to an Academic Dean. In 1992, I bought Subway) franchise that I operated and managed till 1995. I was then offered a teaching position by Heald College where I taught for nine years. During that time, I got my MBA and also had an income tax and bookkeeping business. Having done all of this, I have realized that I Am A Teacher at heart. In addition to teaching, I manage my rental real estate business/investments and travel.
My message to my students - You can do anything!

I was born in Hong Kong, immigrated to SF Bay Area in 1973. Came to USA with knowing only 10 out of the 26 alphabets, I began to learn English by watching cartoons after school.
Through lots of hard work and a never give up attitude, I was admitted to UCB from high school; after 5 years in Berkeley, I earned a BA degree in Computer Science. Worked as a programmer in IBM for 6 years before I started and ran my own graphic designing business for the next 15 years. Because of the flexibility of my work schedule as a boss, I was able to go back to school and earned my MBA degree from CSUEB.
I taught part-time for several colleges from 1998-2001. Because of my passion in teaching, I became a full-time instructor for Chabot in 2001. During my tenure at Chabot, I went back to school and received my DBA degree from NPU in 2016. That was a big challenge for me, but I love the different perspectives in the classrooms, as a student and as an instructor. I believe that made me a better teacher.
