What if I get no results in the Catalog?

After verifying your spelling is correct
and the title is correct, or you are seeing
results but not the actual title you are
seeking, here is what the Library recommends if
you cannot contact the librarian at the moment.

								1. Go to Links to Other Libraries.

								2.  Click in the Worldcat Searchbox or the
								Searchbox below.

								3.  Once you are in Worldcat, expand your search to Libraries
								Worldwide.  Re-sort by Relevance
								Only.

								4.  For the title found, select the
								Editions and Formats link.

								5.  For each edition, go to the full
record.  In the record, look for results
that might include Online copies, copies at Las Positas, or in World Libraries.

								6.  If a copy is available at Las Positas,
you can request the item from the catalog.
Click on the Place Hold button,
sign in to your account, fill the request, and
the item will arrive at Chabot Library around
								two business days later.

								7.  Otherwise under Worldcat,
click on the Worldwide Libraries Own
								This Item link.  Enter your
zipcode and locate where the item is closest to
you.  Click on the link of the Library
(Note: You may need to re-perform the search in
the page it takes you to).  With the
exception of Las Positas, You will need
to go to the Library to check out the item.

In the State of California, you have access to
most public libraries, and with an
								Alameda
County Library card, you also have access to
								check out items at

California State University, East Bay Library (you do not need to pay a
								fee).  Likewise at
								San Jose State
University with a San Jose Library card.

								8.
								To get access to a
								particular public library,
you need to go directly to a particular Library
system, and apply for a card.  With that
card, you then have checkout privileges at any
library pertaining to that system (example: San
Lorenzo Library is part of the Alameda County
								system).  Note:
Hayward Public Library and Alameda County
								Library are two different systems.

Academic libraries may charge you a fee if you
currently are not a student at their
institution.  Access to some materials may
be restricted.   For California State University, East Bay, we
strongly recommend you go to an
								Alameda County
								Library branch, first, get an
								Alameda County
Library card and then use it to check out
								materials at
								CSUEB Library.
